Placed here by St. Patrick Catholic Church in Silverton, and sits in the rear of it on a beautiful mountain setting. A must make Pilgrimage for any Catholic. Mind blowing.✝️

Great place to visit and say a prayer. The story of this shine is amazing and I will try to give a short summary.
The miners from SunnySide mine were in mass in town on a Sunday, when the mine was suddenly flooded by a cave in under a lake. If they had not been in town at mass many if not all would have died.
A short walk to the shrine will give a great view over town. I am told these are only Scottish pines in North America. I was also told the town carried water by hand to keep them watered and growing.
